Texas v Aaron Dean

Fort Worth Patrolman Aaron Dean was called with his partner to check an open door at Atatiana Jefferson's home by a concerned neighbor. After walking around the home, in the dark and unannounced, the team split up and Patrolman Aaron Dean saw a figure through an unlit window in the home. He announced his presence and shot once, thinking the figure was nefarious, but it turned out to be homeowner Atatiana Jefferson.  Dean immediately resigned his position, and was charged in the murder of Atatiana Jefferson.
